What's New
We kicked off our 2008 season with a trip to the Sevier Desert
in Utah on a hazy March day.

Here is your chance to capture a moment away from it all and enjoy an expedition into
nature, history and the world around you. In a photographic virtual world, the UntraveledRoad
recreates the experience of scenic national parks, rustic ranching communities, skyscraper-topped
cityscapes and hundreds of miles of meandering highways and roads. At each point along the route,
see the view in all directions, and choose what direction you wish to follow.
In contrast to much of the mindless and unsavory entertainment on the internet, the UntraveledRoad
stimulates the mind and develops an awareness of the real world. Included in its pages are 993
historic and interpretative markers detailing natural and social history. Occasional high-resolution
views highlight not only the stunning and scenic views, but also allow close-up examination of wildlife,
vegetation and geology.
The UntraveledRoad was not developed overnight to cash in on huge internet profits. It's
author, Kelvin Smith, has spent untold thousands of hours both in coding the system's operation,
and gathering the colossal number of photographs from which it is built.
Snapping off as many as 1626 photographs in a day, he has been found on mountainsides and busy
highways, always in the burning heat of the sun, to make this project become a reality.

Broaden your horizons and stimulate your imagination as you walk the roads and trails of
this fascinating world of ours.
While enjoying the tours, watch for each of the following:
A mountain icon indicates high resolution scenic views.
A magnifying glass icon indicates a historic or interpretive marker that can be read.
Side arrows indicating intersecting routes which can be followed.
A flash icon indicating a jump ahead to the next town, intersection or point of interest.
