Snowfall and Sunshine
You are standing near an impressiveexample of a living thing struggling
for life. Snow often gets deep at
this elevation. Perhaps,
when this tree was
younger, the snow was
so heavy it caused the
tree to bend. But trees need
sunlight! Though the
top of the tree (the
leader) was killed,
another branch took
over the job of growing
toward the sunlight FOOTNOTE Question: As you continue
