About Minneapolis

Minneapolis is the largest city in Minnesota, having been established on the banks of the Mississippi River in 1856. It was a great industrial center in it’s early days, where flour was ground and lumber was milled. The population today is 382,578 (at the 2010 census), with over three million people living in the metropolitan area. As will all American cities which grew great in the industrial era, it is struggling to reinvent itself in the modern economy.

The elevation is around 900 feet, and the 45 parallel passes through the city. The climate is cool, especially in winter.
