Discovery of a pocket of gold and
silver ore led to a fabulous boom development
here in 1883.

The desert has reclaimed the original
site and its suburbs of Logan City, New
Virginia, Brooklyn and Allen City. The mine
was a complete failure - a tiny pocket of
riches on the mountain.
