Grandview Trail
Copper miners built Grandview Trail in 1892-93 to serve their
mines on Horseshoe Mesa. The miners had no reason to reach
the Colorado River, thus Grandview Trail does not extend to
the river. From Horseshoe Mesa, spur trail lead to the Tonto
Trail. Overnight hikers can continue down to the river.
Grandview Trail Profile
From here to Horseshoe Mesa,
Grandview Trail drops 2000
vertical feet (792m) in less than
3 miles (4.8km). As one writer
described it, Grandview Trail is
"steep, steep, steep."
